Daddy Luna, Mammy Moon

By Deirdre Morris · Comments (0)

The Full Moon.

I LOVE that image. Often, I am lucky enough to be able to gaze at her before me on the Mediterranean Ocean at night in our porch. I love, love, love it.

The more I notice the Moon, the more I love her. She feels like a person to me now. I want to give her capital letters.

I love too that my twin girls (26 months) are so aware of the Moon…that they search for her in the darkness.

‘Daddy Luna, Mammy Moon’.

We live in Spain. My partner is Spanish so the girls are growing up with English and Spanish (and some Irish) . They chirp ‘Daddy Luna, Mammy Moon’ proudly to let me know that Daddy uses the word ‘Luna’ for that magical light in the sky while Mammy says ‘Moon’.

As they repeat this over and over, I become aware that these words sound so well together. They belong. Mammy Moon…..they roll into each like waves. As I listen more deeply it seems as if they become the one word. Hmmm

And, as I write this, I am wondering if maybe my girls are trying to tell me something. Mammy Moon….

Mammy, spend time with the Moon. Maybe….

For sure, when I allow myself the gift of time alone with the Moon I am transported into a new place. I feel free, inspired, nurtured, connected to the magic of life and I return to my girls a much happier mother.

Mammy Moon.

I have just decided that I am going to take that as a divine order from my two Goddesses!!! I am listening now to the divine feminine voice!!!

That decision, I know, will change my life…and theirs!

The 21st of December will mark the longest night of the year.

Known as the Winter Solstice, in ancient cultures this was one of the most important days of the year.

Indeed, over 5000 years ago many temples and sacred sites were constructed around this day…or the moment of sunrise following the long, dark night.

I have just returned from Malta, a tiny island in the Mediterranean that is dotted with sacred temples dedicated to the Goddess. On the Winter Solstice, in one such temple at Mnajdra for example a very distinctive ’slit-image’ is projected by the sun’s rays on to a large stone slab, estimated to weigh 2.5 tonnes within the temple.

Newgrange in Ireland too is home to a very impressive site. Above the entrance to the passage at Newgrange there is a opening called a roof-box. It’s purpose is to allow sunlight to penetrate the chamber on the shortest days of the year, around December 21, the winter solstice.

At dawn, from December 19th to 23rd, a narrow beam of light penetrates the roof-box and reaches the floor of the chamber, gradually extending to the rear of the chamber. As the sun rises higher, the beam widens within the chamber so that the whole room becomes dramatically illuminated. This event lasts for 17 minutes, beginning around 9am.

These ancient architectural masterpieces were constructed with incredible precision by people who had an understanding of the mighty significance of these moments.

Night time has long been associated with the feminine energy, dreams, inner wisdom, insights, fertility, sexuality and reflection. The longest night of the year then is, perhaps, the most powerful night for women…..for the feminine energy….

This year, the Winter Solstice coincides with the last Full Moon of the Year. The moon too has long represented the feminine. So, the 21st of December this year will allow an especially powerful expression of the Divine Feminine Energy.

A perfect time to tap into your Inner Goddess….to begin to listen to her deeply and to partner with her in a way that allows you to express and experience your sacred femininity and fertility.
Would you love to experience this holiday season and this very special day in a deep, spiritual way with other inspired women?

Starting next Sunday the 19th of December, I will be running a 5 Day Full Moon Femininity Virtual Retreat around the Winter Solstice and the Full Moon…..

This year, you can connect with your Inner Goddess, hear Her guidance and let Her light your path so that you can come into the Full Moon of Your Femininity and live the glorious life you came here for!

Deirdre Morris

Today marked the start of a full moon.

I am coming to LOVE the moon and how she guides women.

For eons, the universe (God/Goddess) has been giving us clues about the importance of the moon for women and female fertility

  • 28 days menstrual cycles (mirroring the length of time it takes for one complete moon cycle)
  • 40 weeks of pregnancy (10 lunar months)

The moon matters. Our connection to her is a reminder that we are not alone in our fertility.

However, the moon is also telling us about how we can harness the law of attraction.

As I said today is a full moon. There she is in all her glory…perfect, bright, powerful, beautiful, radiant, amazing, and magical.

What is most fascinating is that the moon is always full! It’s just that at other times we can’t see her fullness. The darkness is caused by shadows cast onto the surface of the moon.

But the truth is that the moon is still always there in all her glory.

The same applies to your fertility.

You might have the shadows of your age, your history, diagnosis etc. being cast on your fertility. But the full moon of your fertility is there nonetheless.

Others might be focused on the shadow. You are too old. You only have 1% chance to get pregnant with this round of IVF etc. etc.

But the shadow is the illusion.

Don’t be fooled. Just because others can’t see the fullness of your fertility does NOT diminish it even a dot!

You ARE fertile.

Focusing on the truth of your fertility will harness the law of attraction and bring you more evidence of this.

You can begin by sharing below anything that confirms your fertility!
