Happy International Passion Day!

October 1st, 2008

Today is International Passion Day!!!

We can easily find ourselves just going through the motions or challenges of fertility, pregnancy, birth and parenting. Sometimes it seems like all we meet are bumps on the road.

But we are here for much more than that.

We were born to be joyful and exuberant as we journey through this life.

Often we are afraid to aim for what we truly want because we don’t feel worthy enough, competent enough or deserving enough.

But your passion for creating new life, enjoying a magical birth experience, thriving in motherhood, sacred family life, and enjoying loving, happy relationship is the pulse of the universe expressing itself through you.

What you love and God’s will for you are the same (Janet Bray Attwood and Christ Attwood).

Hand in hand with every desire we have comes the ability to realise it. We can only ever really want for what is possible.

A newborn does not desire to walk. A 3 month old has no interest in speaking. Their passions lie perfectly in the range of possibility in relation to their abilities, skills and vibration.

The same applies to you.

So whatever you are passionate about, know that having the passion is a sign that you are ready to create that reality and take steps to realise your dream NOW.

Birth Myth: Breech Babies Require Cesarean

September 27th, 2008

Being pregnant with our glorious twins I am acutely aware that in many parts of the western world a cesarean would be considered necessary procedure! Here too (in Espana).

Thankfully, with the help of the law of attraction, I have found a hospital with an empowering attitude towards mum, dad and baby and a view that birth is, in fact, natural. Yippee! So I can deliver vaginally even though we are having twins. Great.

And then we discovered that one of the babies is in breech…..

So I was thrilled with my doctor’s reaction. All is well as far as he is concerned! We are still on for a natural, vaginal birth!

I found this video that shares one couple’s story of their 3 breech babies.

“Refusal of vaginal breech is a human rights violation in that it forces a woman to agree to surgery in order to obtain medical care. The right to informed consent is meaningless where there is no right to informed refusal.” - Henci Goer

Focus on what YOU want your birth experience to be. Intend to attract skilled people who support your vision in a safe, empowering way. And know that it doesn’t matter what your experience up to now has been.

You are a powerful creator and can begin to harness the wonder of the universe and create a magical beginning for you and your baby now!

Breastfeeding, Vitamin D and The Meaning Of Life

September 23rd, 2008

On our Blog Talk Radio show today, Maire Clements (author of the multi media ebook/ecourse ‘The New Motherly Art of Conscious Breastfeeding) and Nutritionist, Tracy Gary discussed the controversial topic of vitamin D, breast milk and whether babies should be taking supplements when being breastfed exclusively.

Maire explained the risk factors (not enough vitamin D in mom’s diet and not enough exposure to sunlight). Tracy shared with us foods that breastfeeding moms need to include in their diet so that baby gets enough vitamin D while on the breast. She also referred to an an excellent article entitled ‘Does My Baby Need Vitamin D Supplements’.

During the discussion, I was reflecting on the message behind the issue of possible vitamin D deficiency for baby when breastfeeding. What is life trying to tell breastfeeding moms in this story?

And here is my conclusion for now…

 (1) Nourish yourself fully because as you nourish yourself you nourish your baby. (In my view this relates to more than just nutrition).

(2) Get out of the house and into nature.

(3) Kisses on naked skin are essential for you and your baby….. in this case kisses from the sun but feel free to generalise this one.

With an understanding of the law of attraction, when you choose to receive nourishment, tenderness, love and connect with nature you model this to your baby and both of you attract more of these life enhancing experiences into your day.

Birth From Dad’s Perspective- New Documentary on Father’s Experience of Birth

September 21st, 2008

The trailer to this new documentary is very powerful indeed. ’The Other Side of the Glass’ looks at how current practices around birth dis-empower dads who have been overlooked in the birth process.

In this clip we are reminded that a new baby is fully conscious and involved in the process of birth and it matters how we touch and treat her.

It is a good reminder too that joy in birth and parenting requires us to honour the sacred masculine as well as the sacred feminine.

Thanks Linda for sharing this with me.

Breastfeeding Success: New Multi Media Book To Support Breastfeeding for Baby and You

September 20th, 2008

When considering or practicing breastfeeding, we are faced with many opinions (often conflicting) as to the ‘proper’ way to breastfeed your baby.

This can be confusing as some breastfeeding practices are drawn from cultures that don’t mirror the reality of living in a modern world and also because baby’s expected weight gain may be based on information gathered from formula fed babies or unrepresentative samples.

So Maire Clement’s new book ‘The New Motherly Art of Conscious Breastfeeding’ is a breath of fresh air in the field.

I predict that this book will become essential reading for all professionals in the area of lactation and infant development and parents who know that breastfeeding was meant to be a joyful, fulfilling experience for all.

Maire, who has been working with mothers and babies for three decades, has distilled her vast knowledge and experience into the Conscious Breastfeeding system designed especially for modern mums.

She starts from the premise and knowing that breastfeeding should be pain-free and teaches us how to make that a reality. She also reminds us that breastfeeding is a skill that mother and baby need to learn.

Maire is a wonderful example of what we can bring forth into the world when we follow our passion and deep knowing of how life can be. This book has already been a great resource for me as I prepare for my twins.

Maire’s Conscious Breastfeeding System will serve to empower so many mums and dads….creating a beautiful foundation for your baby and you to connect deeply in a way that allows all the family to thrive.

Pregnancy, Fears of Down’s Syndrome and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

September 17th, 2008

Many pregnant women have concerns about Down’s Syndrome during pregnancy.

Amniocentesis, a test which checks for chromosomal abnormalities, is par for the course in many places. We decided not to take it.

Firstly, we are very sure that we want both of these babies regardless. And secondly, I want my babies to have the joy of just being babies for as long as possible rather than coming with a label before they are even born.

None the less, a dream I had about having a child with Down’s Syndrome revealed to be that I did feel anxiety around the idea that one of our twins might have this diagnosis.

Even though, I have had the good fortune of working with people with disability including Down’s Syndrome and I realise that each child is a precious, perfect gift….. I noticed worry when I thought about this happening.

On exploring it further, I came to recognise that I was afraid that people would judge me for waiting…..for being a more mature mum……a high risk. So I decided to take my own advice.(Click here for more on high risk pregnancy.)

But because concern about Down’s Syndrome is so real for many pregnant women, Joanne Roibu and myself have recorded a session of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) that specifically addresses the ‘Fear That My Baby Will Have Down’s Syndrome’. We will be including it in our audio programme for pregnant women and that will be available soon.

EFT is very powerful for removing the charge and the worry around an issue and we believe that all pregnant mums and dads (and babies in utero) deserve to feel calm, peaceful and joyful during pregnancy and beyond.

Incidentally, I had another dream recently in which a woman I knew had given birth to a baby with Down’s Syndrome. In the dream I wondered why this mum hadn’t told me about the diagnosis. Then it hit me. She hadn’t told me because it didn’t matter!

I woke up very happy because I knew this to be the truth!

Getting Pregnant- Listen to Male Wisdom to Become Pregnant More Easily

September 14th, 2008

A while back I blogged about the wisdom of the female body and how it clearly tells us what is core to a woman’s fertility. Click here for more on that.

Today I want to tune into the wisdom of the male body.

The male contribution to conception and pregnancy is sometimes undervalued. While a woman’s body is much more involved in the development of the baby, a man’s input is essential to allow this to happen.

But sperm alone is not what a man brings to the equation. He also brings a beautiful message from creation. In order for a man to contribute his sperm to create a baby, he must experience a high level of excitement. Ejaculation will not occur unless excitement and pleasure are present in the experience.

In other words, excitement and enjoyment of the physical are fundamental to creating new life. They are not side effects, they are part of the energy of creation from which we all came.

You can use this insight to support your fertility. In your quest to become pregnant and have a baby how about planning to allow more excitement into your life and relationship so that this life giving ingredient is included in your fertility plan.

Birth of Twins & Multiples Video- Natural, Vaginal, Full-Term Birth is Possible

September 10th, 2008

Mums pregnant with twins and multiples get used to others predicting confidently that they won’t go full term. This is the prevailing belief and from their perspective it is the truth.

In many places around the globe there is an assumption also that having twins and a cesarean go hand in hand.

As we know, whatever we believe we attract to us.

So I was delighted to come across this video which offers evidence for another perspective in which twins and multpiles are born naturally, vaginally, safely at home and even full-term.

Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome (PCOS, PCO) and the Law of Attraction

September 7th, 2008

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women of child bearing years (Broomsma et al, 2008) and PCOS is associated with infertility, frequent first trimester miscarriage, and an increased risk of gestational diabetes (Goldenburg &Glueck, 2008). PCOS can be devastating for those with this diagnosis.

One of the most significant issues associated with polycystic ovaries syndrome is that the body produces an excess of male hormones known as androgens. There is an imbalance between the male and the female hormones in favour of the former.

We know from the law of attraction that in order for something to manifest in your experience, you must be (in some way) a vibrational equivalent to it.

So, with regard to Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome your beliefs/thoughts and feelings (conscious or otherwise) are in alignment with PCOS.

That does not mean that one has to be thinking about fertility challenges or polycystic ovaries syndrome for it to appear in your reality. What is means is that the vibration of PCOS is in some way a match for what is going on in your consciousness.

We are living in a patriarchal society in which ‘maleness’ and manhood is valued more the ‘femaleness’ and womanhood. We have been taught that expression of emotion or listening to our intuition is somewhat inferior to being strong, taking action and getting things done.

In this environment, it is easy to understand how a woman’s body might (unconsciously) expend more energy in producing androgen…which is vibrationally connected to maleness (and what has been deemed as most important in society up until now) because this mirrors the messages we may have received during childhood.

I would love to hear your comments on this.

Success With Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)- An Amazing Opportunity For You

September 5th, 2008

I mentioned before that myself and Life Mastery Guide Joanne Roibu are putting together audio programmes for success in Pregnancy, Birth and Breastfeeding with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Click here to read that blogpost.

Some of you will be familiar with EFT which is a marvellous tool that helps to release blocks to physical, mental and emotional well-being by tapping on certain energy points in the body (linked to different meridians as identified in Chinese medicine).

Well, Joanne will also be running an 8 week EFT teleseminar series ‘Removing Blocks To Success With EFT’ in which she will skillfully guide participants through different success related themes to clear out blocks (conscious or otherwise) you may have to success.

Joanne will be hosting a blog talk radio show and providing a demonstration on air to give you some insight into how powerful this technique is particularly when guided by an excellent coach. I will be the guinea pig!

Regardless of what kind of success you seek..from fertility to financial freedom, this show is worth tuning into. Listen in live this Saturday 6th of September at 1pm Eastern Time or 7pm Central European Time or tune in later.

Partners and children (even babies) can benefit too.

Click here for the link to the show.

For more information on Joanne’s great value 8 week programme click here.

See you on the show!
