This show discussed how we can be more ‘green’ as moms.
We were also joined by Cindy who called in a couple of weeks ago seeking support in her transition to Conscious Breastfeeding. This time Cindy had some great news to share!

By the end of the 8th week, your baby will have completed the development of the upper lips.
And around this time (week 10 at the latest) the two sides of the roof of your baby’s mouth fuse together at midline (Upledger, A Brain is Born).
Sometimes this does not happen fully though.
You can gently remind your baby that this is one of the processes that is going on in her development and invite her to complete it fully.
Run your tongue along the roof of your own mouth and run your fingers along your lips to demonstrate what you mean.
Draw your baby’s perfect lips and hard palate (roof of the mouth) if that feels good.
Relax fully. And trust that all is very well indeed with your baby!

Maybe you have experienced miscarriages or perhaps it is your age, but for some reason you are in the ‘high risk’ pregnancy category.
And instead of realising that you are a completely unique individual, maybe it seems that books and your gynecologist/doctors keep referring to your pregnancy as ‘high risk’.
But instead of allowing ‘high risk’ pregnancy to be a weight on your shoulders, you can choose to hear it in another way entirely.
If you are more mature or have experienced challenges in your fertility you are high risk for sure….
You are high risk for really appreciating fully this pregnancy.
You are high risk for prioritising the pregnancy in your life.
You are high risk for being really ready to receive this wonderful baby in your life.
You are high risk for being able to embrace fully the gift of parenthood.
So next time somebody refers to yours as a ‘high risk’ pregnancy…nod to yourself and think ’Yes, there is a very high risk that I am going to experience more joy, love and magic than I ever thought possible’.

There are a several different elements of inspired parenting which I will address in a series of posts.
One of the basics of inspired parenting is the whole idea of co-parenting with the Universe, God, Angels or whatever word/image fits for you.
Inspired parents know that they are not doing it alone. They call on the universe to support them in their parenting.
When you believe that you have sole responsibility for your children and their well-being, parenting is an overwhelming task.
When you realize that you are being loved, supported and guided as you parent, you can relax into the joy of parenthood and know that all is well.
As you develop the habit of inviting in the support of the universe around different tasks and situations, you are opening the door to a new level of joy and fulfillment in family life.
This process can begin before birth and indeed before conception.
So ask for what you want, imagine the universe delivering it and allow yourself to experience the success in pregnancy, birth and parenting that you really do deserve.

The only obstacles between you and pregnancy with a healthy baby are your current thoughts and beliefs (some may be unconscious).
So if you are asking this question from a place of joyful expectation knowing that in each moment you are moving towards the dream of becoming pregnant and giving birth to a happy, healthy baby….you are moving towards it.
If you are asking this question from a place of frustration and sadness, the message you are sending out to the universe is one of loss, powerlessness and fear.
In this frame of mind you are actually moving away from the joy of having the baby you want.
So stay focused on the pregnancy and your healthy baby. Imagine the circumstances in which you would love to conceive your baby.
See yourself glowing in pregnancy with a beautiful, big bump. Visualise the birth and baby emerging safely and gently with ease.
Hear the midwife congratulating you on your healthy, happy baby.
Feel fully the joy of that. Feel baby on your breast. Smell your baby. Hear the first cries.
Revisit this scene often. And trust that it is coming at the very perfect moment for all of you.

This one minute video summaries research that looked at how the power of intention can influence the food we eat and its effect on us.
http://oneminuteshift.com/videos/dean_radin/intentional_chocolate
In the experiment those who ate the chocolate that had been ‘infused’ with positive thoughts felt much better than the control group.
How does this apply to you?
Well ,if you are trying to become pregnant, you can begin to intend that everything you eat is infused with fertility enhancing energy.
In pregnancy you can intend that your meals are laced with health, vitality and paving the way for a gentle, safe birth.
If breastfeeding, you can intend to add the energy of abundant milk, relaxation and deep, easy, successful connection with baby.
When feeding your baby (with the breast or otherwise), you can visualise vitality, happiness and well-being on every level being absorbed easily by your very happy baby.
To support your relationship, play with the idea that every bite brings more laughter, support and delight for you both.

We live in an amazing universe.
And while we often experience concerns about how we can make something happen, the truth is that within every single true desire lies the mechanism for its fulfillment (Deepak Chopra).
There is evidence of this in your own origins. When your father’s sperm fertilized your mother’s egg, a craving arose within the egg to grow and become a new life in the world.
And along with this yearning came the ability of the egg to divide and create a placenta that would support this process.
Before that, the aspiration of the sperm was to reach the egg and so the need to create a placenta was not relevant then.
As we take steps forward in the direction of our dreams….healthy pregnancy…safe, gentle birth or real joy in breastfeeding, partnership and parenting we are provided with the tools, abilities and supports we require.
Just like the sperm (or the egg), our job is to take the first step though and move forward in trust.
What it is that you desire and what is a baby step you can take now to move closer to your dream?
