This show discussed how we can be more ‘green’ as moms.

We were also joined by Cindy who called in a couple of weeks ago seeking support in her transition to Conscious Breastfeeding. This time Cindy had some great news to share!

By the end of the 8th week, your baby will have completed the development of the upper lips.

And around this time (week 10 at the latest) the two sides of the roof of your baby’s mouth fuse together at midline (Upledger, A Brain is Born).

Sometimes this does not happen fully though.

You can gently remind your baby that this is one of the processes that is going on in her development and invite her to complete it fully.

Run your tongue along the roof of your own mouth and run your fingers along your lips to demonstrate what you mean.

Draw your baby’s perfect lips and hard palate (roof of the mouth) if that feels good.

Relax fully. And trust that all is very well indeed with your baby!

Deirdre Morris

Maybe you have experienced miscarriages or perhaps it is your age, but for some reason you are in the ‘high risk’ pregnancy category.

And instead of realising that you are a completely unique individual, maybe it seems that books and your gynecologist/doctors keep referring to your pregnancy as ‘high risk’.

But instead of allowing ‘high risk’ pregnancy to be a weight on your shoulders, you can choose to hear it in another way entirely.

If you are more mature or have experienced challenges in your fertility you are high risk for sure….

You are high risk for really appreciating fully this pregnancy.

You are high risk for prioritising the pregnancy in your life.

You are high risk for being really ready to receive this wonderful baby in your life.

You are high risk for being able to embrace fully the gift of parenthood.

So next time somebody refers to yours as a ‘high risk’ pregnancy…nod to yourself and think ’Yes, there is a very high risk that I am going to experience more joy, love and magic than I ever thought possible’.
