Speaking to your Baby
Posted by: | CommentsBabies love to be included.
In the womb or outside, talking to your baby really supports him in his emotional and intellectual growth.
It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t appear to have the language skills yet. He has the basics and they develop through use.
Babies picks up on the energy and mood of what is being expressed and experience on a cellular level what is going on around them.
You can reflect back to him what he is doing e.g. ‘you are stretching now’, ‘you are looking around’. This helps him to develop a sense of self.
Reminding him of how lovely, how loved and worthy of love he is fosters self-worth and keeps him in touch with this truth.
Even if you haven’t yet conceived, you can begin the process of communicating with your baby… telling him that he will be so welcome.
Just practice. Watch closely how your baby responds when you speak words of love (or feel it deeply if you are pregnant).
Notice too how you feel as you take the time to speak with love to your baby.
